JP, Frankie and Dave
While studying late one night for an Economics test the next day, after having to walk all the way back to res from town, JP and Frankie came up with the idea of Student Shuttles. We then got Dave on board to join us in our venture. After doing a year’s worth of market research during 2011, we decided to launch the service during MAD2 2012, owing to the our findings in 2011 which showed high levels of drunken driving and a general feeling that the safety of students is jeopardised by walking home from town late at night.
The Drivers and Doormen
Hans has been a driver for Student Shuttles since the beginning. Originally from Bloemfontein, Hans is fluent in both English and Afrikaans. He is an experienced horse-rider and has taken part in a number of show jumping competitions around the country. His favourite soccer team is Kaizer Chiefs. Hans is a very friendly and gentle person who is always ready to help anyone on the shuttle.
Stevie has been with Student Shuttles since September 2012, and is of great service to us. Stevie is a Stellenbosch local who is a keen soccer player, favouring a position as a striker. Stevie is very reliable and a safe driver, and his family have been involved in the transport industry for 3 generations.
Stocks is the younger brother of Hans, and has also been with Student Shuttles since the early days. Hailing from Bloemfontein, Stocks is also fluent in both English and Afrikaans. Stocks is also a great horseman, and has even earned provincial colours in horse riding. Stocks is also an animal lover, and has worked closely with lions in wildlife reserves.
